• A highly original car which performs very well indeed.
• Single family ownership for 57 years.
• Extensive history file dating back to 1946.
Chassis No. GBA 29 is a super example of a 20/25. Its sporting coachwork was produced by Hooper, the finest English coachbuilder of the time, and the car remains highly original having at one time been in the same family ownership for 57 years. The close coupled four door nature makes this car very practical and sociable. It also benefits from a sliding sunroof.
It is evident from the extensive history file that the car has been well maintained throughout its life, having been looked after by McKenzie Guppy Ltd. since 1982. The invoices within the history file show work totalling £60,000. Also included is a vast number of MOT and tax discs dating back to the mid-1940’s, together with general correspondence and early logbooks. It is documented that in 1946 the car’s mileage was 53,951. The indicated mileage today is now (1)56,000. The history file also includes a photograph taken in 1962 in Monte Carlo. Clearly the car was very much cherished.
GBA 29 drives very well indeed having good brakes, nice light steering and a quiet engine. Much of the interior trim is original, however the front seats have been retrimmed in recent years. The coachwork is tidy but reflective of its age. This is a delightful car deserving of a good home.
