North Yorkshire Tour

Touring the North Yorkshire National Parks in a 1910 Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost is an absolute pleasure and joy, especially when it is alongside two other splendid Silver Ghosts and a great selection of around 30 other vintage and classic cars.

Jonathan and Sarah together with their two young children were delighted to recently take part in a fabulous tour of North Yorkshire, an event kindly hosted by one of our customers in support of Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

A 2-day event, the tour set off on the Saturday headed for the Yorkshire Dales along some spectacular roads and through some picturesque villages before reaching its most challenging climb near Pateley Bridge. Sunday saw the team of cars head off this time in the direction of the Yorkshire Moors National Park with the well-planned route meandering through more spectacular scenery and a particularly enjoyable drive on the winding and undulating roads in Bransdale. In total the tour covered approximately 150 miles ‘up and down Dale’ solely using minor roads which were both scenic and challenging at the same time.

The 1910 Silver Ghost, carrying Roi des Belges coachwork and currently with us for sale, added to the delight of the experience. Despite its rather elegant appearance, the car proved to be an excellent hill climber and cruised at a good turn of speed. The view from the driver’s seat over its parallel bonnet is simply like no other. The car proved extremely comfortable for all passengers and a great hit with passers-by. It was a privilege to take part in such a great event.
